An exciting day ahead for young musicians from Hampshire Music Service

Grayshott Concerts Society will be hosting an event for young brass players from Hampshire Music Service with musicians from the London Mozart Players and top soloists from the brass band world as tutors.

Paul Archibald (trumpet), Peter Wright (trumpet), Jamie Hood (cornet-trumpet), Martin Grainger (horn), Brett Baker (trombone), Paul Lambert (bass trombone), Mike Dodds (euphonium) and Edd Leech (tuba) will be performing and coaching as part of the day which will also feature the world-premiere of a new commission by internationally-acclaimed composer Paul Lovatt-Cooper.

There will be two youth ensembles performing on the day. Each of these groups will have time during the day to learn and rehearse the music with the star tutors and Hampshire Music staff.

The junior and senior ensembles will be performing together:
Paul Lovatt-Cooper: The Hampshire Suite (world premiere)
Rossini: Finale from the Overture to William Tell

As a stand-alone ensemble, the junior ensemble will also perform alongside the tutors:
Jon Cranston: Things That Go Bump!
Jon Cranston: Yo Ho Tiddle Oh!
John Barry: James Bond Theme
Grieg: In the Hall of the Mountain King

The senior ensemble will be performing with the brass tutors:
Edward Chance: Differently Setting Susato
Gabrieli: Sonata Pian e Forte
Rimsky-Korsakoff: Procession of the Nobles

The Tutor Brass Quintet will also perform the wonderful Malcom Arnold Quintet for Brass and Mozart's Overture to the Magic Flute
