From Norfolk to Normandy: Classical Concert & Film - 25th October 2013, The Hostry Festival @ Norwich Cathedral
Chamber Orchestra Anglia is an orchestra with many dimensions. It explores new avenues in music, makes new connections between music and other disciplines and find new ways of presenting events to reach fresh audiences.

As well as performing in traditional concert halls, the COE frequently play in inspiring, unconventional venues and public spaces: their work has taken them from science labs to libraries; from theatres to churches to touring bandstands.

Interactivity is at the heart of everything the orchestra does. It's aim is to get to the essence of the works it performs; to enlighten and challenge audiences by performing music in a fresh light.

The orchestra makes use of multimedia technology to enrich audience interaction through music, and works with presenters including Griff Rhys Jones, Jamie Crick and Christopher Cook to make performances truly accessible.

Programmes are constructed around themes. With the help of guest speakers including Sir Walter Bodmer and Professor Michael McIntyre, having recently explored the maths of music, the links between music and genetics and the history of dance.

Chamber Orchestra Anglia once again join forces with Norwich HEART's Digital Film Heritage to present a series of short films portraying the lives of World War II civilians in Norfolk and enemy-occupied Normandy. Music by British and French composers accompany the deeply moving footage in the magical setting of the Hostry Festival at Norwich Cathedral.
