The People's Orchestra, Adrian Boult Hall Nov 4
4 November 2012

Talented musicians from across the UK are preparing for the inaugural concert of a new music project.
The People's Orchestra will be performing at the Adrian Boult Hall, in Birmingham, on November 4 2012 conducted by Paul Archibald and Christopher Rawley

The orchestra, a not-for-profit community affair, offers adult musicians of all ages a taste of orchestral life. Co-founder Sarah Marshallsaid: "Time and time again, people with a real talent for music give up playing after they leave school because they no longer have an instrument or can't afford it with other priorities in their life. We have had a lot of people audition who regret not keeping up with their hobby and often had nowhere to play."

She added: "The People's Orchestra is all about nurturing talent and keeping music playing alive in households across the Midlands, and hopefully one day, the country."

The first concert is titled 'Trailers' and gives a taster of forthcoming concerts in 2013. Themes of Bollywood, sport and Lord of the Rings will be covered.
