Schools workshops with Benedict Hoffnung

Paul Archibald (left) & Benedict Hoffnung
Paul Archibald and Ben Hoffnung undertake educational tours, giving concerts and workshops for trumpet and percussion at schools and music groups throughout Britain.

Both Ben and Paul are experienced performers and teachers, and their presentation is relaxed and informal with the emphasis on participation by students and children of all ages. The music is carefully chosen to appeal to the younger generation, and spans many different styles and cultures including Classical, Popular, Jazz and World music. The programmes are designed to encourage young people to take part in the art of musical performance, supplementing the classroom and instrumental tuition already undertaken in schools. Each programme is devised in conjunction with the music staff of the school concerned, and is presented in a way that is informative and educational but also entertaining and inspiring! Different types and sizes of trumpet are demonstrated, together with a large array of percussion instruments including vibraphone, glockenspiel, timpani, Kit, assorted hand-held instruments and drums of all shapes and sizes!
