Beethoven Mass in C Nonsuch Singers, described by The Times as "one of London's best chamber choirs", has a reputation for innovative programmes, high-quality singing and communicative performances. The choir's considerable repertoire encompasses a cappella and accompanied works from the Renaissance to the present day, and the choir performs regularly with many of the UK's leading period instrumental ensembles and finest young vocal soloists. Nonsuch Singers ('one of London's best chamber choirs' The Times) under their conductor Graham Caldbeck present a wonderfully varied sequence of music by the four musical 'greats' of the Classical and early Romantic eras - Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert. Haydn's effervescent Te Deum and expressive Trumpet Concerto are followed by Exsultate, jubilate - Mozart's renowned work for solo soprano, ending with the famous 'Alleluia'. Schubert's short, celebratory Magnificat closes the first half. Beethoven's majestic Mass in C with its powerful symphonic orchestral writing and dramatic choruses and solos, forms the concert's climax. The choir is joined by Paul Archibald, London Primavera and an outstanding line-up of young soloists from the Royal Academy of Music, including soprano Aoife Miskelly, one of the finalists in the 2010 Kathleen Ferrier Awards at the Wigmore Hall.
