Paul Archibald and the internationally
distinguished pianist Kathron Sturrock join to perform recitals
of the large repertoire that exists for trumpet and piano.
Kathron enjoys a career as soloist, accompanist
and chamber musician and has immense experience both as performer
and teacher. Having twice won the award for the best pianist at
the Sofia International Opera Competition, Kathron was invited
to work with the legendary soprano Elisabeh Schwarzkopf.
This was the beginning of a long association in
which they appeared regularly together throughout Europe. Kathronís
vision of creating an ensemble of international standing was realised
when she founded the Fibonacci Sequence. This ensemble is now
well established and appears regularly at Festivals and venues
throughout Britain.

Kathron is a frequent recording artist for the
BBC and made her Proms debut in 1994. The repertoire for trumpet
and piano contains works by some of Europeís finest 20th Century
composers and stylistically affords a programme of music that is
substantial yet highly entertaining. |
