Juliet Edwards studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Alexander Kelly, Roger Vignoles and the members of the Amadeus String Quartet. She was awarded the prestigious DipRAM on completing her studies, having won prizes for solo piano, chamber music and accompaniment. In 1997 she was appointed an Associate of the RAM.
Juliet’s engagements take her around the world and she is a regular performer at concert series and festivals throughout the UK. She has performed with many distinguished soloists and ensembles including Robert Tear, William Bennett, Emma Bell, Paul Archibald, David Campbell, Crispian Steele-Perkins, Trevor Wye, the Schidlof Quartet, and her own group the Edwards Ensemble. She has appeared at most of London’s major venues including the Wigmore Hall, the Queen Elizabeth Hall and LSO St Lukes. Juliet plays regularly for masterclasses at the Royal Academy of Music and coaches students on instrumental repertoire and performance. She also works with the London Symphony Orchestra, as part of LSO Discovery, in concerts, masterclasses and other activities.
Juliet performs and coaches at festivals and summer schools including Musicfest Aberystwyth, Dartington International Summer School and The Benslow Music Trust. Recent recordings include Joie de Vivre, French trumpet and piano repertoire for the Brass Classics label, and Sir Peter Maxwell Davies’ virtuosic Trumpet Sonata for the composer’s own MaxOpus label, both with Paul Archibald, and Alan Hovhaness’ concerto Khaldis with the International Celebrity Trumpet Ensemble on Brass Classics. Recent highlights have included a major recital tour of China with Paul Archibald in April 2007, which included solo piano performances and piano masterclasses. In addition to her performing activities, Juliet produces recordings, including recent projects with the London Mozart Players and at the Royal Opera House. She has a young family and lives in South London.
