Golden hands

The International Celebrity Trumpet Ensemble came into being as a result of a unique collaboration between, Brass Classics, Yamaha and the Austrian instrument manufacturer Karl Schagerl.
Paul Archibald devised a programme of original repertoire for Proclamation, a CD released in October 2006 on the Brass Classics label and invited some of the world's leading trumpeters to participate. The ensemble consists of principal players from the Vienna, Berlin and Munich Philharmonics, London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Opera House, Chamber Orchestra of Europe and from the USA, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. In addition to these superb trumpeters the repertoire also features works that include piano, organ, percussion and two trombones in a unique sound that is brilliant, vibrant and totally exhilarating! This magnificent ensemble is now available for concert performances and in a programme of music for eight trumpets, two trombones, piano, organ and percussion.

Ryan Anthony
Principal Trumpet with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and a member of Canadian Brass. As a Yamaha artist he maintains an active solo career as a classical and pops soloist both with orchestras, and in recital with organist Gary Beard.

Ian Balmain
Principal Trumpet of the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. He was previously Principal Trumpet of both the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Andrew Crowley
Principal Trumpet with the English Chamber Orchestra and London Sinfonietta. As a soloist, he has performed at many major European festivals with the English Chamber Orchestra and regularly performs as a studio artist, recording over 100 film soundtracks.

Rod Franks
Principal Trumpet of the London Symphony Orchestra and a professor at the Royal Academy of Music.

Hans Gansch
In 1982 he joined the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra as Principal Trumpet, a post he held until 1996. He now teaches at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and performs as a soloist throughout the world.

Paul Archibald
Former Co-Principal Trumpet of the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Principal Trumpet of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and London Sinfonietta, currently Principal Trumpet of the Britten Sinfonia and the London Mozart Players. Professor at the Royal College of Music and recitalist with Juliet Edwards.
